A common enquiry we get now a days is customers asking why they have a warning light flashing on their dashboard.
The simple answer is they have a fault occurring somewhere in the cars computer system, which can impact on the cars reliability.
This fault can be in the engine management system, transmission, abs breaking system, srs air bag system, or other electronic systems in your car, which all feed information back to your cars computer so your car will run to its optimum level.
What do we do next?
We have an electronic scanning tool which we plug into your cars diagnostic plug. The computer will store a fault code which we can access through our scanning tool, once we have the code, we will go through the appropriate procedures to find out what part is causing the fault eg sensor, faulty wiring, or in fact the computer itself. Sometimes it can just be the service light to advise it’s time to get your car service done.
Once we have replaced or repaired the faulty equipment we will then give the car a good road test to make sure the problem is rectified.
Please note there can be more than one piece of faulty equipment causing that light to come on and it can be a process of elimination by replacing one part at a time, especially when the light or problem is intermittent.
So in finishing it can be time consuming, frustrating and expensive for both parties, so be patient and we will get there. Our mechanic will work to resolve the warning light issue for you.
