Checking Your Car Tyres For Added Safety

17th April 2015

Checking Your Car Tires For Added Safety - Gold CoastOwning a vehicle will mean that there will be natural wear and tear that is unavoidable. However, you can work on maintaining your vehicle’s tyres so that you can keep them in great shape and hopefully extend their life. Your tyres are under constant stress so it is bound to happen that they will wear out and break down much quicker if you do not take care of them. Luckily. there are a few things that you can keep in mind that will help you keep your tyres working for you so that you can get the absolute most out of the money that you invested in them.

For tyres, there are both driving and weather conditions that can have an impact on how many years you will be able to get use out of them. Along with that you will often find that vehicle dynamics as well as the types of roads that you travel on can put added stress on your tyres. Knowing how to check them over and maintain them will help to make it so that they not only last longer but they will also be a lot safer and less prone to causing accidents.

Always be sure that you have the right amount of tyre pressure with your car tyres so that they are set within the recommended levels. Having them under inflated or over inflated can cause uneven wear, reduce your traction, cut down on the amount of control you have over steering or even impact your fuel economy.

Make note of the wearing process on each of your tyres. Believe it or not, a worn tyre is a quite common cause for road accidents. By looking at the wearing process at regular intervals, you will have a better understanding of when your tyres may need to be replaced to keep you safe while you are on the roads. With a measuring device, you can take note of the amount of space that you have in between the treads of your tyres. If you find that the reading is around 1.5mm then the chances are very good that you will need to replace your tyres.

Why People Choose TRS

Couldn't be happier. Found these guys online when my car was running poorly and I was new to the area so had no-one to ask for recommendations. Saw great reviews online so gave them a call. Was able to drop car off same morning and get a lift back home. The owner who was friendly and honest and easy to understand rang me to explain the issues and how much it would cost to fix the necessary right now, and also recommended other things that I could look at in future. Decided to get them to do everything mentioned now, as they didn't try to push me on the other matters like most other mechanics try and he made sense why it was more cost effective to do it all at the same time while they had the engine out for the pressing matter. To my surprise, I got a call that afternoon to say it was all ready, and they picked me up to collect car. The bill was way less than I anticipated and the car has never run better. It was also vacuumed and washed. Couldn't ask for better service. I have now found the only mechanic on the Gold Coast I will ever deal with. Highly recommended.
